Wrestlers Advance to Individual State Program

Congratulations to Pelion wrestler, Will Jeffcoat, on winning the lower-state heavyweight championship last weekend. Brad Creech, Blake Bagwell, and Deakon Nicewonger also qualified for the individual state championship match that will be held February 28 – 29, 2020. The Individual Duals held in the Anderson Civic Center has updated their times for the State Championship meets being held this weekend. Feb 22nd – Weigh-in at 10:00 AM, wrestle at 11:00 Feb 23rd – Weigh-in at 8:00 AM, wrestle at 9:00

MatCats Crown a Lower State Champion, 3 Others Eaern State Bids

The Panthers had a good weekend at the AAA Lower State Tournament. 4 of our wrestlers qualified to advance to the State Tournament in Anderson, SC from Feb. 22-23rd. MatCats Travel for Individuals State Championships

The Pelion Wrestlers will be traveling to May River High School on February 15-16 for the 3A individual wrestling state championships. Matches will be gin Friday evening at 6pm and Saturday morning at 9am.  

MatCats Advance

The wrestlers advanced to the second round of the playoffs after beating Hanahan 52-27 Saturday, but lost 51-12 to May River. Though the team’s season is over, the Lower State individual tournament will take place Feb. 15-16, and we expect great things.
