Panthers took home a 5-4 victory over Swansea on Friday.
Swansea got things moving in the first inning, when Swansea scored one run on a stolen base.
Panthers took the lead for good with three runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Drew Boozer singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, Dylan Williamson doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, and Jacolby Myers singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.
Alex Pegues led things off on the rubber for Panthers. He went seven innings, allowing four runs on five hits and striking out three.
Alex Sandifer was on the mound for Swansea. He surrendered four runs on nine hits over four innings, striking out four. Hunter Livingston threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Panthers scattered 12 hits in the game. Myers, Williamson, Tanner Shumpert, and Boozer each collected multiple hits for Panthers. Myers went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Panthers in hits.
Thomas Lackey led Swansea with two hits in three at bats. Swansea was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Josiah Sightler made the most plays with 11.
