Allison Sipes was a 1997 honors graduate of Pelion High School as well as being a member of the Panther softball program for 5 years as a shortstop.
In Allison’s 5 seasons on the softball team, she was recognized as an all-region honoree 4 times, an all-conference honoree 4 times, all-state honoree 3 times, and named to the Frank McGuire All Freshman Team in 1994.
She was also named the 1-A softball player of the year in 1994 and played on back to back state championship teams in 1995 & 1996. Those teams were the first to ever win a state title at Pelion High School.
While in high school, Allison also participated in volleyball and basketball, winning multiple regional and conference awards.
Upon Graduation, Allison, went on to play collegiately at the University of South Carolina – Aiken as a 3rd baseman. Where in 2000 she led the team in put-outs and assists and is currently ranked 3rd all-time in assists at USC Aiken.
Allison also volunteered with the boys and girls clubs of Aiken as well as the special olympics.
She graduated in 2002 with a bachelors degree in exercise and sports science with a minor in business.
Patrick Hedgepath was a member of the Might Panther Track and Field Teams at the genesis of a dynasty that would stretch
through the 1990’s and beyond. His four-year career from
1990 through 1993 included three team Conference
Championships, three individual Conference Championships
and two individual State Titles (1991 and 1993).
The Track Teams of that era had a combined win-loss total of
78 wins and only 15 losses. Patrick joined the Elite level by
winning the State Championship in the Pole Vault during his
sophomore and Senior seasons as a Panther. Patrick is one of
four different Pelion High School athletes to win the State
Championship in the Pole Vault. His junior year the Mighty
Panther Track Team finished as the State Runner-up and
during his senior year they recorded another top 3 finish in the
State finals. Patrick also threw the Discus and competed in
Basketball while at Pelion High School.
