Varsity Football · Panthers Host Hornets in Final Home Game of the Season

The Panthers are looking to snap 3 game skid tonight as they host the CA Johnson Hornets (2-7) in a game that was rescheduled due to Hurricane Florence. The Panthers have finished their region portion of their schedule and placed 4th in the 5 team region with a record of 1-3 after beginning on a 2 game winning streak that featured wins over Columbia High School and region foe Edisto High.

The Panthers dropped a winnable game at home against the Swansea Tigers before facing region champion Strom Thurmond and last years region winner Gilbert in their current 3 game losing streak. The Panthers will look to dominate the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball to get back into the win column against the Hornets and eliminate penalties that have doomed the Panthers in the past 3 games of the season. With the Panthers finish, they will travel to Hanahan High School in the 1st Round of the 3A state play-offs November 9th.

Defensively, the Panthers will continue to lean on seniors George Storm, Drew Boozer, and Dylan Williamson to lead the way alongside underclassmen Will Jeffcoat, Gage Goodwin, and DeShontez Gray to stop an athletic CA Johnson team.

Offensively, the Panthers will continue to rely on their workhorse, running back Jeremiah Green, to lead the way and open up the passing game for quarterback Pryce Whitten to find Ethan Davis and Travon Alston.

It is senior night as well as Hall of Fame night this evening. Senior Night festivities will begin at 6pm followed by kick-off at 7pm. Our Hall of Fame Ceremony will take place at half-time as we honor two new inductees into the PHS Hall of Fame. Admission is $5 and theme is Neon.
